July 30, 2025, Leimbach Stadium – an evening to remember. Borussia Dortmund faced Sportfreunde Siegen as part of their preseason preparations, delivering a true soccer highlight in the Siegerland region.
Long before kickoff, the atmosphere was electric: The stadium was completely sold out, with 18,400 fans creating an impressive backdrop at Leimbachstadion—a sight not seen in the region for quite some time. For many, it was a fantastic experience to see BVB play live in the area, and for the hosts, it was proof of soccer’s growing appeal in Siegen.
On the field, the Bundesliga club demonstrated its sporting class. But the result took a back seat that evening. It was about more than that: community, enthusiasm, and the good feeling of being part of a great moment.
As a long-standing partner of Sportfreunde Siegen, it was a special pleasure for us to be able to witness this game. The club’s positive development over the past few years deserves respect—both on the field and off.
Special thanks go to Sportfreunde Siegen for the successful organization of this event and the smooth proceedings, both on and off the field. And, of course, to BVB, whose presence and enthusiasm for the game brought wide-eyed wonder and wonderful moments.
