Sorting: the foundation of recycling
Laser-based sorting
Sorting is carried out based on so-called laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS). LIBS measurements, which are carried out without contact in just a few milliseconds, are used to record several hundred spectra from one piece. Plasma emission spectra are analyzed online through a complex mathematical process and via high-performing system software, supplemented by an impressive database of saved analytic data from sample pieces. Of course, products sorted with LIBS are also subject to our strict quality controls.
